For the past year, Green Chips and Clean Energy Project have been working with the Clark County Commission to develop a solar project that will power the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign with Nevada’s own solar energy. Just yesterday, the Clark County Commission unanimously approved the project agreement!!

We would like to thank the Clark County Commission for their unanimous approval of the plan to install three solar trees south of the sign, allowing the sign’s legendary neon and incandescent lights to run solely on Nevada’s harnessed solar energy!

Will you help us Thank the Clark County Commission for their support? Click here to say thank you!

This project symbolizes Southern Nevada’s clean energy leadership over the last ten years and will include and will include an educational display describing the project and history of the sign as well as directing those interested in learning more about renewable energy and sustainability in Southern Nevada to the Clark County, Green Chips and CEP websites.

The project is supported by generous donations from the Consumer Electronics Association, NV Energy and the Las Vegas Centennial History Grant Program.
