Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) has taken great strides to build their renewable energy portfolio! With a goal of having 25% of its energy portfolio derived from renewable resources by 2025, their newest project has them well on their way! With no impact to Southern Nevada water rates, this 127 acre installation will provide SNWA with 14 megawatts of solar energy!

SNWA has shown a profound commitment to environmentally sensitive business practices, from water treatment and distribution practices to renewable energy sources like this one. Currently, their renewable energy portfolio is at 13%, and the River Mountains installation will take the total to 18%, well on the way to the 25% goal.

With SunEdison on board for the project, the installation will be fully operational by December of 2015. The land being used for the project is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation and a public comment period is now open. SNWA and SunEdison want to hear what you have to think!
