Southern Nevada’s sustainable community was united at the vibrant, educational and exciting GreenFest put on by the Green Alliance. The annual GreenFest event coincides with Earth Day each year and looks to highlight the importance of going green in order to save our environment.
The festival, located Downtown Summerlin was run entirely on solar power, a small demonstration of the clean energy potential within Nevada. A wide range of exhibitors showed off their wonderful art work, promoted green non profit organisations, highlighted educational programs, organic gardening and clean energy technologies.
The event included a look into the future of transport, electric vehicles. The procession boasted a host of electric vehicles from several different manufacturers. With the new electric highway between Las Vegas and Reno, in addition to the introduction of Tesla to the State, these vehicles are sure to become a more common sight throughout Nevada.
Crowds enjoyed live music throughout the day from a plethora of local bands. While families participated in the fun festivities with lawn games, a treasure hunt, great food and drink. The Green Alliance event is always a huge community success, and this year was no exception.
